Hi 🙂 Welcome and thanks for checking this out.

I’m Elizabeth Newsom (you can call me Liz), and I’m the author of Captive and Crowned and The King’s Cursed Bridethe Vice President of the East Texas Writers chapter of ACFW, member of Toastmasters, a BookTuber, and a marketing major at the University of Texas at Tyler. When I’m not writing or reading,  you can find me creaming my friends at gaga ball, flying gliders in New Mexico, tutoring in anything from writing to statistics, and roping my fellow college students into a variety of social events.

I’ve loved writing and reading since the second grade (my eyesight can prove it). Around 10, I got a teeny tiny laptop for Christmas. It wouldn’t connect to our Wi-Fi, but I could type stories on it. And that’s what I did, though none of them have ever been completed. It didn’t occur to me that this could actually be a career choice until two years ago or so. I love romance, because it’s about love. I think some people who read romances are looking for love, but maybe in the wrong places. That’s where my mission comes in. I want to touch people, to encourage them, to inspire them. I want to show them that love comes from God, and that it’s not something you “fall” into—it’s a choice.

Being an author is hard. Typically, it’s not one of the higher paying careers, but I love it. Writing has a tendency to seep into every area of my life, and I constantly find myself narrating things in my head (weird, huh?). I can’t not write, so I’m just going to do what I love, and I’m going to constantly find ways to improve. The money will come later. Even so, I’m actually pretty scared. I have faith in God’s plan for me, but I also have my doubts. When I do, these are two of my favorite quotes:

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”

-Les Brown

“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.”

-Jeremiah 29:11

The least I can do is try.
