Book Review: The Tender Vine by Kristen Heitzmann

Genre: Historical Romance

You’ll like this if you like: Romance, Historical, Big Italian Families, Adventure, Mysterious, Brooding, Bossy Heroes, Saucy Heroines, Multi-Dimensional Characters.

Cleanliness: Carina and Quillan are married, but the book doesn’t cover any scenes between them. Of course, sometimes the after-math is included, but the book is completely clean. 🙂

Hero Type: Brooding

In this last book (Diamond of the Rockies 1 Book 3), Quillan is determined to prove his devotion for Carina (Aww!). Everything is sold, so they can pack up and head to California, where Carina’s family lives. They have a few adventures along the way. Once in California, Quillan faces rejection and jealousy as he meets with Carina’s former fiancée, Flavio. Everyone has a backstory and a reason for acting like they do.

Kristen Heitzmann writes so beautifully. I just loved this series, and I had trouble functioning and breathing normally until I’d finished. Her books grab you and never let go. I loved every second of it. The third book is pretty different from the earlier two, since the rest of the cast and the setting changes, but she handles this so well, and I was excited to start off on a new adventure with Carina and Quillan. Quillan, even though he’s already been saved, has quite the growth arc here, and I loved seeing him change over the course of the story.

Purchase The Tender Vine

So, how do you like historical romance novels in general? Are there any you think I should write a book review on? If you’ve read this book, what do you think of the series?

I love historical books! Like I said on your last post, I enjoy most places and time periods pre-Renaissance. I don’t have any recommendations for you, but I always enjoy reading your reviews. I’m curious though: did you talk about the first two books in this series? If so, I missed them. 🙁

I did! My website’s search bar doesn’t work that well, so if you search “the rose legacy and sweet boundless elizabeth newsom book review” on Google, you should find it 😉
