Neat Idea! I love instrumental because it sets a mood without hioldomg my attention captive. I can’t think very well to music with words, so if I am working on a project (which is about the only time I listen to music), I don’t want to be distracted. Plus, if I am writing a story, movie and game soundtracks are perfect for finding the exact music you want to inspire a particular scene.
Instrumentals are great for writing! I can’t think to music with lyrics either! Though I love to sing along when my attention isn’t diverted 😉
I like certain types of pop and alternative music, so long as the band has the right world view. Techno is fun and catchy, so that’s another favorite of mine 🙂
Showing my age here, Elizabeth. I like classical music up until the mid-twentieth-century ugly-is-beautiful trend. Also like instrumentals from the Big Band era–Benny Goodman, Ralph Flanagan, Ray Anthony, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, & others.
I love instrumentals too! Especially for writing. I’ll have to check some of those artists out. 🙂 And, of course, you can’t go wrong with classical music.
i guess it would be pop…but bc of christian pop.
i guess that classical would have play second fiddle (srry)
I wonder what genre the Phantom of the opera falls under….
