If you could describe 2016 in one word, what word would you use? And why?
Mine is: Unfurling.
At the beginning of last year, I sent the following in an email to a friend:
I don’t want my life to be so crammed full of things on a to-do list that I don’t get to do the things I love. And life’s too short to live like that. My word would be: unfurling. This [past] year involved a lot of growth, change, and preparation. I think this year will be filled with exponential growth. I’ll unfurl my petals so I can blossom or unfurl my wings so I can soar 😉
2016 has had so many plot twists and surprises. Some were difficult, but the vast majority were amazing. This time last year, I could never have imagined being where I am today.

January 16, 2017 - 4:27 am ·Negative: Inadequate
Positive: (process of being) “Molded”
Strange words to choose and I know they are two; but it does sum up my year. Realizing my shortcomings is what makes the Lord stronger in my life, because when I surrender it is when He becomes my all.

That is so true! I often feel closest to God when I realize how powerless and inadequate I am. It sounds like you had a good year 🙂

January 18, 2017 - 12:21 am ·Wow- way to ask a hard question. Unfortunately, the first word that comes to mind is “stressful.” I dealt with some changes in relationships, busyness, and other life stuff. However, I hate to use such a negative word. A lot of good things also happened. I started my blog, I finished my first novel, I got to visit my former home state, etc., etc. I feel like one word just isn’t enough to encapsulate an entire year. I’m glad you found one that worked for you, though!

January 20, 2017 - 2:47 pm ·You could use a positive and negative words, like Exconvict 😉 Every year has its ups and downs.
Well, sounds very busy and productive, but I can see how doing so much would be stressful too! I hope God has more peace for you this coming year, hopefully without sacrificing any of the wonderful things you’ve been doing.
