Writing Prompt: Write a Post-Apocalyptic Nursery Rhyme

We’re trying something a bit different today. Instead of continuing a story one section at a time, for today’s writing prompt we’ll be writing our own poems and nursery rhymes for a post-apocalpytic world.

Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

    The Dolly of Despair

    When the world goes awry.
Skipping through the piles of debris.
    You spot your old dolly.
And fall quickly to your knees.

Wind whipping at your hair, you hug dolly close.
    Smudged. Dirty. Broken beyond repair.
But your heart fills with wonder
    That dolly was still there.

    Twisted piles of metal.
    Splintered, wooden spikes abound.
But the sky shifts a truer shade of blue.
Now that dolly has been found.
